Sigh......another Woodbury story finished - I don't know what I'll do without my Cade and Rhiann fix, lol :) Rise of the Pendragon culminates in the exciting battle with the Saxons at Caer Fawr - will all Cade's friends survive? Well to answer that question, y' all are gonna have to read this one - there will be no spoilers in this review. I thoroughly enjoyed this final book in this story that combines history, fantasy and magic into an enthralling read that I have enjoyed from the beginning - the characters are strong and memorable. I have liked Rhiann's strength and the fact she can wield a bow and arrow with such expertise, and is certainly not one of these women that sit in the back-ground waiting for their men to come or wailing great gushing tears. As for the boys - Cade, Dafydd, and Hywel - I'm pretty sure I'm half in love with them myself; they are such great characters and they have a vibrancy that leaps off the pages. I can't recommend this series enough.Product details

I became hooked on the series and the story. My only regret has been the total cost of this series. It has proven to be one of the most expensive reading I've paid for in a long time. I won't make this mistake again, as much as I love Sarah Woodbury's books, I can't afford them. The novella's weren't worth it. They are far to short to justify the cost.

I did not like the references to non-Christian beliefs in this series. I liked this author so much in a lot of her other series and I was disappointed.
I have enjoyed several of Woodbury's books, but this one (one?) was quite disappointed in the presentation ... cutting a story into snippets and presenting it as multiple novellas, when each snippet was really a chapter in a book. The writing was good, the story interesting, but I felt cheated by the presentation. Sorry.
