Good book for learning to animate with cinema 4D. Comes with step by step exercises.

This is a real bait-and-switch scam. It is a book, so the expectation is that you will have a good instructional book that you can store on your tablet, kindle, or laptop and refer to as needed without access to the internet. The first 4 chapters or so live up to that promise, but part way through chapter 5 the author got to lazy to work on the book part anymore, and almost everything is "video only", which completely defeats the purpose of having a BOOK that one can use regardless of any access to the internet. So for part of chapter 5 and all the way through chapters 9, the rest of the so-called book is missing and you are up "S" creek without a paddle if you have an ISP with data limitations or dial up or no internet access. Basically, the last half of this book was never written and it is pretty much the cop out of "video only" requiring internet access and a broadband connection, which leaves many of us out of luck completely. Just be aware you are only getting HALF of the promised book, and the last half is available only if you are learning C4D at a location with unlimited broadband access.
This is totally irresponsible by the author and a severe breach of trust. I expected a document that I could use anywhere without internet connection.
This is very unfortunate because the first half of the book was off to a very good start. The writing was clear and well illustrated, the changes in nomenclature in the interface were well documented, and if the second half of the book had actually been written and included, I would have given this 5 stars. I'm imagining some scenario in which the author, up against some deadline for finishing the book, and finding himself only half done, just decided to punt and turn on the screen capture video recorder and just gave up on the idea of writing the second half of the book. What a shame, it showed so much potential and it could have been a valuable document.
For those with mobile data plans and good coverage, who don't plan to do their learning on a park picnic table or other location, maybe you will have the opportunities to actually use the materials in the second half that the have-nots will not be able to access.
Very good tutorial. Video's are also available. Many examples explained in details.
This is an excellent book, I am really surprised with how fast it helped me pick up this program! The chapters you read are very detailed and split up well, the pictures are life savers when you cant find something. The videos are a good shift in speed near the end when you have a lot of the basics down.
The book has well-written instructions that are precise and clear. When it comes to demos that are lengthy and require extreme detail, video links are provided in-text that walk you through the steps. Overall, it is a helpful tool for learning how to maneuver the program and learn the fundamentals of Cinema 4D.
